During this unexpected and tough time of lockdown, many dog parents might find it difficult to keep up with those frequent walks and necessary routine exercises.
Since going outside is somewhat a tough option, here are some excellent home exercises that either you can lead or just follow the dog.

1. Indoor Obstacle

Time to clear out some space in your living room and create obstacles for jumps, tunnels, and poles. You can make a crawling tunnel using bedsheets, a few cloth drying clips, and chairs. Or simply create a hurdle by placing the broom on the chairs. Use plungers/shoes/slippers or toilet rolls to create a zig-zag zone.

2. Stairs

If you have stairs in your home, nothing like it, include 5-10 sets of ascends and descends.

3. Hide and Seek

Include maximum family members in this game. Hide around the house, when ready shout for your dog to come find you. He will have a blast hunting each one of you. This will not only exercise your dog’s body and mind but will also teach Recall.

4. Doga: Yoga for you and your dog

It’s a fun and entertaining way to develop a mindful connection with your pet as you mimic your pet’s breathing patterns and have to stay controlled throughout the pose to ensure your pet’s comfort.

5. Monkey

You’ll need someone else to play with you and your dog. Just get a ball, throw it to each other and let the dog have fun trying to get it.

Now put it all together and create a full indoor exercise routine and bribe your pet with some treats, there are many possibilities if you get creative with your ideas. Remember to change the routine to avoid your pet getting bored of it.
